The North Platte Area Children’s Museum is a hands-on, immersive play experience for kids of all ages.

Located in the historic Carnegie Library Building in downtown North Platte, this unique family attraction offers two stories full of opportunities for exploration, imagination, adventure, and learning.

Under 12 months: FREE
Children (ages 1-12): $8
Adults (ages 13-59): $6
Senior Citizens (ages 60+): $4
We accept cash, local checks, and credit cards ($1 fee)
Museum Members FREE (with current membership)

Tuesday — Friday,
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Closed Sundays (May 31 — Sept. 30) and Mondays

Parking

Free parking is available in several locations within a short walking distance of the Museum, including the lot on the southwest corner of 4th and Vine (across from the North Platte Library, and the lot on the northeast corner of 4th and Jeffers. The Lincoln County Jail building also permits Museum visitors to use any empty, non-reserved spots that may be available in their lot.

 

More about the Museum

The Museum’s nine main rooms are home to dozens of interactive play exhibits — including the Game On Room, Ag World, Transportation World, Pirate World, Pizza World, Medical World, Construction World, Light World, Little Hirschfeld’s and more! All of our exhibits include a variety of toys and equipment suitable for children of all ages and abilities.

Our organizational mission

North Platte Area Children’s Museum is dedicated to serving the needs of children, families, and schools as a center of learning and discovery.

The Museum has been making a world of difference in North Platte and surrounding communities since 1999.  We are a private 501(c )(3) nonprofit that receives no city, state, or federal tax dollars. We are supported by entrance fees, membership fees, and the generous donations of sponsors and community members.

Our organization is led by a board of dedicated community volunteers.
